You will reap the benefits of massage if it becomes a regular part of your life. My goal is for us to work together to take better care of your health, long-term.
Communication is key. I need to know what you're feeling, experiencing and what you're looking to gain in order to best help you. In turn, I will explain the treatment and what you can expect to gain from it.
John is a very experienced remedial massage therapist having completed advanced qualifications in remedial massage therapy and associated modalities to guarantee your satisfaction and health improvement
Deep Tissue Massage reaches deeper layers of the muscles. It is used to break down knots and relieve pressure points throughout the body. This massage is beneficial for athletes and those who sit for long periods of time.
The goal of Relaxation Massage is to melt away muscle tension and increase the blood flow around your body. Relaxation Massage is extremely therapeutic as it decreases muscle toxins, increases oxygen levels in the blood, and improves flexibility in the body.
Sports massage uses combination therapies to repair, rejuvenate muscles and to stretch tight muscles. You don't need to be an elite athlete to benefit from sports massage. This specialised massage will have you performing at your best and to help prevent injuries that may occur with regular exercise.
Musculoskeletal needling (or sometimes called dry needling) involves inserting very thin needles to stimulate tissue repair and target areas of tightness. The procedure is almost painless and has great results.
Cupping is the application of plastic or glass cups under vacuum which increases the blood flow to the area. It is great for reducing tension in muscles. It can also be used to increase flexibility
John is registered with all the major health funds so you are able to claim your rebate is applicable.
We will ask you lots of questions and assess your body to tailor the right types of treatments for your condition and body. If you find the massage pressure to be too much, please tell your therapist. Your comfort is very important to me.
It is common to feel tired after your treatment and occasionally you may feel a little tender in areas where deep tissue treatments have been applied. These sensations will pass in a day or so. Remember to drink lots of water as well.
During the treatment, you are free to talk or simply relax and drift off. The room will be darkened with soft music. This is your time, so the choice is yours.
This will depend on your reason for getting a treatment. If it is injury related, your therapist will discuss the frequency of your next appointment. If it is for general health, a massage fortnightly or monthly is highly recommended.
Remedial massage can benefit everyone, so you don't need to be an athlete.
Your session and booking is completely confidential and will not be discussed with anyone. Appointment timings are spaced so you shouldn't see anyone else waiting or leaving an appointment either. If you have specific confidentiality requirements, please discuss with your therapist. Your confidentiality is very important.
If you fall asleep, I will take that as a compliment. You are obviously relaxed and that is perfectly ok to fall asleep. I will wake you when you need to roll over or when your session is finished.
No, often a number of different types of treatment will be combined into your session. This may include deep tissue, relaxation, cupping, and/or needling. Each session is tailored to your body's needs.
